We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our client in their Fulfillment team in Berlin on a Hybrid basis. You’ll be instrumental in developing a unified platform for them and other cashback systems, transforming and scaling data, and enabling users to earn and redeem cashback seamlessly.

As a senior engineer, you’ll work on a microservices-based platform, helping guide the team, mentoring colleagues, and delivering reliable, high-performance backend systems.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, applying strong engineering principles (SOLID, DRY)

• Work with AWS services, NoSQL and MySQL databases, ensuring scalable and performant solutions

• Transform data structures to support feature-rich systems for cashback and rewards

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver top-quality solutions

• Mentor and support junior team members, guiding architecture and technical decisions

• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and problem-solving across multiple services

What we’re looking for:

• At least 6 years of experience as a software developer with a focus on backend engineering

• Strong core knowledge of Node.js and engineering best practices

• Solid experience with databases (NoSQL or MySQL) and cloud platforms (AWS)

• Comfortable working in a microservices architecture

• Confident in delivering clean, maintainable code and designing scalable systems

• Good English communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• Available to work in Berlin with 1 day per week in the office
