We are working with a pioneering mobility technology organisation, based in Berlin, at the forefront of autonomous systems and next-generation transportation. Backed by a major global group, this business is building scalable, intelligent platforms that will redefine how people and goods move within urban environments.

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Vice President of Engineering (Embedded Systems) to take full ownership of a critical technology area underpinning their autonomous platform.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position with end-to-end responsibility for embedded systems across a complex, large-scale technology platform. You will oversee architecture, integration, validation, safety, and release, ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and production-ready.

Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will operate at both a strategic and execution level, driving innovation while ensuring alignment with long-term product and platform goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the embedded systems strategy from concept through to production and release

• Lead cross-functional teams spanning software, hardware, testing, and connectivity

• Ensure systems meet functional safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements

• Manage complex stakeholder environments, including internal business units and external partners

• Oversee large-scale programme delivery, including budgeting, planning, and resource allocation

• Drive the adoption of new technologies to support scalability and long-term platform evolution

• Contribute to high-level technical and product decision-making forums

• Provide leadership and direction across a large engineering organisation

Experience Required

• Extensive leadership experience within embedded systems engineering, ideally in complex or safety-critical environments

• Proven track record delivering large-scale systems from concept through to production

• Deep technical expertise across embedded software and hardware architecture, integration, and validation

• Strong knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks

• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary engineering teams (80+ engineers)

• Ability to operate effectively within complex stakeholder environments and at executive level

• Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous
